[Inspiration #2]

[Inspiration #1]15 Things you should give up to be happy

Ciao Bellas!
Let me share this list I read from Purpose Fairy with you. This is to help keep the positive life and is worth reading.

1. Give up your need to always be right
There are so many of us who can’t stand the idea of being wrong – wanting to always be right – even at the risk of ending great relationships or causing a great deal of stress and pain, for us and for others. It’s just not worth it. Whenever you feel the ‘urgent’ need to jump into a fight over who is right and who is wrong, ask yourself this question: “Would I rather be right, or would I rather be kind?” Wayne Dyer. What difference will that make? Is your ego really that big?

2. Give up your need for control
Be willing to give up your need to always control everything that happens to you and around you – situations, events, people, etc. Whether they are loved ones, coworkers, or just strangers you meet on the street – just allow them to be. Allow everything and everyone to be just as they are and you will see how much better will that make you feel.

“By letting it go it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But when you try and try. The world is beyond winning.” Lao Tzu

3. Give up on blame
Give up on your need to blame others for what you have or don’t have, for what you feel or don’t feel. Stop giving your powers away and start taking responsibility for your life.

4. Give up your self-defeating self-talk
Oh my. How many people are hurting themselves because of their negative, polluted and repetitive self-defeating mindset? Don’t believe everything that your mind is telling you – especially if it’s negative and self-defeating. You are better than that.

“The mind is a superb instrument if used rightly. Used wrongly, however, it becomes very destructive.” Eckhart Tolle

5. Give up your limiting beliefs
about what you can or cannot do, about what is possible or impossible. From now on, you are no longer going to allow your limiting beliefs to keep you stuck in the wrong place. Spread your wings and fly!

“A belief is not an idea held by the mind, it is an idea that holds the mind” Elly Roselle

6. Give up complaining
Give up your constant need to complain about those many, many, maaany things – people, situations, events that make you unhappy, sad and depressed. Nobody can make you unhappy, no situation can make you sad or miserable unless you allow it to. It’s not the situation that triggers those feelings in you, but how you choose to look at it. Never underestimate the power of positive thinking.

7. Give up the luxury of criticism
Give up your need to criticize things, events or people that are different than you. We are all different, yet we are all the same. We all want to be happy, we all want to love and be loved and we all want to be understood. We all want something, and something is wished by us all.

8. Give up your need to impress others
Stop trying so hard to be something that you’re not just to make others like you. It doesn’t work this way. The moment you stop trying so hard to be something that you’re not, the moment you take off all your masks, the moment you accept and embrace the real you, you will find people will be drawn to you, effortlessly.

9. Give up your resistance to change
Change is good. Change will help you move from A to B. Change will help you make improvements in your life and also the lives of those around you. Follow your bliss, embrace change – don’t resist it.
“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls” Joseph Campbell

10. Give up labels
Stop labeling those things, people or events that you don’t understand as being weird or different and try opening your mind, little by little. Minds only work when open. “The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don’t know anything about.” Wayne Dyer

11. Give up on your fears
Fear is just an illusion, it doesn’t exist – you created it. It’s all in your mind. Correct the inside and the outside will fall into place.
“The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.” Franklin D. Roosevelt

12. Give up your excuses
Send them packing and tell them they’re fired. You no longer need them. A lot of times we limit ourselves because of the many excuses we use. Instead of growing and working on improving ourselves and our lives, we get stuck, lying to ourselves, using all kind of excuses – excuses that 99.9% of the time are not even real.

13. Give up the past
I know, I know. It’s hard. Especially when the past looks so much better than the present and the future looks so frightening, but you have to take into consideration the fact that the present moment is all you have and all you will ever have. The past you are now longing for – the past that you are now dreaming about – was ignored by you when it was present. Stop deluding yourself. Be present in everything you do and enjoy life. After all life is a journey not a destination. Have a clear vision for the future, prepare yourself, but always be present in the now.

14. Give up attachment
This is a concept that, for most of us is so hard to grasp and I have to tell you that it was for me too, (it still is) but it’s not something impossible. You get better and better at with time and practice. The moment you detach yourself from all things, (and that doesn’t mean you give up your love for them – because love and attachment have nothing to do with one another,  attachment comes from a place of fear, while love… well, real love is pure, kind, and self less, where there is love there can’t be fear, and because of that, attachment and love cannot coexist) you become so peaceful, so tolerant, so kind, and so serene. You will get to a place where you will be able to understand all things without even trying. A state beyond words.

15. Give up living your life to other people’s expectations
Way too many people are living a life that is not theirs to live. They live their lives according to what others think is best for them, they live their lives according to what their parents think is best for them, to what their friends, their enemies and their teachers, their government and the media think is best for them. They ignore their inner voice, that inner calling. They are so busy with pleasing everybody, with living up to other people’s expectations, that they lose control over their lives. They forget what makes them happy, what they want, what they need….and eventually they forget about themselves.  You have one life – this one right now – you must live it, own it, and especially don’t let other people’s opinions distract you from your path.

Revlon PHOTOREADY 3D Volume Mascara & Just Gold Liner Pen

Ciao ladies!

Since Chief left few days ago for a week long business trip, I have all this free time to do some shopping (he hates shopping), go to the salon, plan and book our short holiday for the coming EID break (oh.. we're going to Singapore.. and I will tell you all about it after the Sri Lanka trip) and blog.
I got this mascara along with my NYX lip glosses that I talked about on this BLOG.

It's Revlon's Photoready 3D Volume Mascara. This is how the lash brush looks like..

After trying this product one thing I noticed is that the mascara is not thick, which is good because it does not clump. The color is very black as how I want it and application is easy because of the small bristles of the brush.
At first application it gives a natural look and not so thick lashes that looks heavy. This look I recommend during the day. Apply two coats for a thicker and fuller effect that works very well for dramatic eyes or evening look.

Another product that I bought--for the first time by the way-- is this Just Gold Liner Pen. I got it from Dragon Mart at one of the kiosks that sells makeup. Its made in Germany (as it says and i hope!) Price is 25AED each.

There's a story behind the purchase of this product. As what I posted before on an old blog, I have always used ELF's Waterproof eyeliner pen. It is part of my everyday makeup routine so every time I order online, I buy a minimum of 10 to stock since I buy from US and have it shipped here in Dubai via my Aramex New York P.O. Box.
Since ELF has stopped accepting international credit cards, which prohibited me to purchase on the online US Store, I started looking for an alternative for the same.
I don't like pencils nor the eyeliners on small jars with brush. I'm so used to the eyeliner pen for years and I really need to find something similar.
This is what I found and so far.. it's good. It's the same as the ELF Waterproof liner, actually, even better because it does not dry up so quickly like the other.
Having the experience of the ELF ones drying up so quickly I bought four on my first purchase. Now I don't have to worry about running out of this product since this is available locally.
This December when I go to New York and see my family I will buy the other ELF products that I like to stock and bring back here in Dubai apart from the eyeliner :)

Ciao!

NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss Review

Ciao ladies!

What we have here is the NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss. One of NYX's lip gloss line. I got three of their natural - slightly tinted colors that works well for most of skin tone type.

I've always loved NYX Products. Their lipsticks and lip glosses have variety of colors that you can choose from. Remember their Jumbo Eye Pencils that became a staple eye makeup base after a primer to help eye shadow colors pop? It was on every eye makeup tutorial few years back and this led to the creation of the NYX eye shadow base. Since I was introduced to  NYX, it has continued to make new products that never fail to impress me.

This is SPONGE CAKE

This is SMOKEY LOOK

and this is NATURAL

The Swatches

I love all three. I even get confused on what to use each morning. But since they all look good on me, I close my eyes and shuffle them in my hand and pick one.. :D

Price is cheap for 39AED each.

I have changed my brands through the years but NYX is one brand that I still check out from time to time to see their new products. It's my cheap and cheerful brand :)

Try it yourself ladies!

Ciao!

Emirates Airlines First Class Cabin - Boeing 777 Tour

Remember I told you guys that we went on a short holiday to Sri Lanka? We booked Business Class tickets at Emirates and on our way back we're so lucky to be upgraded to First Class. This is because Chief has the Gold status for his Skywards. Part of the benefits of being a gold member is getting an upgrade right before the flight.
During check-in Chief was already asked by the ground attendant for his details since they are aware of his Skywards Status. They were already offering him the First Class upgrade. He told the man that he will accept the upgrade only if I would be upgraded too. If not, he'll stay with me on Business Class. Yes, that's how sweet my man is. I always have a reason to fall in love with him over and over again.
When the man left to talk to other passengers, he told me that he hopes that we get the upgrade for me, because it will be my first time and he wants me to experience it.
In the end when we checked in at the gate we were told that we got upgraded. YAY! I got so excited.
Usually I'd take naps on flights because this way, I can recharge my energy. But this trip, I said to myself "What the hell, I will make sure to enjoy every moment of my very first experience at First Class.
So, just like the Business Class, you get to be served with champagne while waiting for other passengers to get boarded the plane. I started taking photos. The most unusual thing is, Chief, the person who hates his photograph taken, has asked the flight attendant to have our photo taken together. We had the dividing wall between two cabins down so we can see each other and reach for each other.  My man, without me asking and pleading for it, had taken the initiative to have our photo taken! It made me really happy.
I guess I should stop the talk now and start with my tour of the First Class Cabin of Emirates Airlines..
In first class you dont have a seat number but a Suite number. You can close the doors of your suite if you want privacy and even put the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign as you please.

This is my Suite. That's a small desk in front of you where you have so much leg room. The drawer on the left has writing box. It will be one of the photos when you scroll down. And that mirror where you can see me is the mini vanity mirror with little toiletries provided for the passenger.
That's how much leg room I have. This is so I can have my seat flat like a bed. Oh so comfy!
And this is the First Class Suite guide that they provide for each cabin which comes in handy for first timers like myself.
When you open the booklet you have this image showing you how to manipulate every single gadget inside your little suite.
Your very own mini bar. That's Diet Pepsi, 7Up, Perrier Sparkling Water, Mango Juice, Voss Still Water and regular Pepsi. This is apart from the drinks that they serve for your meals depending on what you want and the overflowing champagne.
Yes, that's my champagne that was served upon boarding and while other passengers are being boarded. This is what they do at Business Class as well. That little screen you see is your Cabin Control for everything. It looks like a mini iPad.
These are the controls to call an attendant, for the lights and to release your control pad.
This a small compartment at you armrest which can be closed to put valuables.
Each suite has it's own power outlet in case you need to charge things like iPads, Laptops, etc.
This is the writing box inside the drawer.
and this is what's inside the box, a stationary with envelope and pen all with the logo of Emirates..
This is the close up shot of the vanity.. see those little toiletries and creams..Those two round things are scents. One for relaxing to help you sleep and the other one to help you concentrate. That latter one is for those people who still work while flying. I love how they consider these things for their passenger. Yep, that's me on the mirror!
This is the vanity box when you remove it from the counter..You can take it home if you want to.
They provide noise cancellation headset..
which looks like this..
The attendants go around with a lot of reading materials that you can choose from.. I grabbed the ones that won't stress my mind since I want to relax.. we need doses of gossips once in a while..
This is my appetizer, prawn salad with white wine..
I opted for Chicken Biryani for my main course..
and this is my cheesecake for dessert that comes with a box of Godiva chocolates.. oh my.. it's so good..
Chief didn't want his.. or probably gave up his for me since he knows how much I love chocolates and the attendant gave me another extra box..
This is what's inside those little boxes of surprise..ohh..so yum!
Yup, I finished 3 boxes of Godiva Chocolates and two bottles of Voss with it.. 'twas so good!
For privacy.. and since I didn't want people to see my overeating of chocolates, I closed my doors after they've taken my food tray..
Saw Modern Family..
Yep, that's me lying down..
Of course I watched a Filipino movie which actually made me laugh so much..
There's my man "Chief" relaxing on his suite. Do you see that panel with the gold trim  between us, that can be kept up if you want privacy and you are sitting beside a stranger.  The location of our suite having them in the middle and side by side is the best seats for couples like us. This way we can reach over and give each other a peck
See our hands clasped while we each watch our own thing..That's how sweet my man is.. nothing more I can ask for..
The whole experience is top notch. We were taken cared of very well by attendants and I enjoyed every moment.
I wish we'd get upgraded again on our upcoming trip for the Christmas holidays. Last year we were in Italy to be with his family and this year is my turn so we'd be spending the holidays with my family at NYC!! I'm very excited!!

That is it for the tour of the Boeing 777 First Class of Emirates Airlines. I hope you enjoyed reading as much as I had writing this blog.

Ciao!

What is your Signature Scent?

Part of my daily preps in the morning is wearing a scent. I feel naked when I am not wearing one and has always been like this since I was young. I remember my mom telling me "It is important that you always smell nice, because even if a person is not beautiful but they smell nice, they become beautiful".
Imagine telling that to a young girl who is full of insecurities and consider herself a shadow of her sister. This was an information taken seriously and made as a rule in her life. (Yes, I was very insecure as a young child, still a little bit now I have to admit.)

I grew up never passing a day without a cologne when I was younger. Started off with Johnson's baby cologne that became Angel's Breath and teenage years became Victoria's Secret  Pear Glace.

This was the original packaging then. I never ran out of this and I had the other scents too.
Of course this has evolved as I grew up and mature. I used to have a collection of all the scents of Victoria's Secret Body Splashes that I use after I shower.. apart from the perfume that I will be using during the day. I had perfumes too from Clinque Happy, Ralph Lauren Ralph, Cool Water, CK One, CK Be, etc...

I remember my male classmates at the University, they told me that they knew I was at the area or coming towards them at the hall of our classrooms because they can smell my scent right before they see me. lol! So, it's sort of became part of my identity.

After a while I have matured and just stuck with a bottle of 2-3 of which ones that works very well with my body. We all know that fragrances have different effects on each individual depending on the chemical composition of our bodies. Some may smell nice to others and not to you.

I'm glad to have found 3  that works very well for me and let me share them to you.

#3 CHANEL CHANCE

This is the least of my favorite of what I have at the moment. Why?
The scent is something I thought I like when I bought it. I even got the 100ml. So stupid of me. Don't get me wrong, the scent is nice, but I am not so fond of it. In fact, I rarely use it. On first spray, the scent is too strong, I remember Chief complaining that I've put on too much perfume. I really didn't. It's my normal way of spraying as how I always do on which he doesn't complain when i use my other scents.
The scent stays for a few hours but I notice that at the end of the day, it's gone. The scents I wear lasts the whole day for me until I get home. This doesn't. I dont know, maybe I have not used it too much (since I don't like it) and might have to give it a chance (ironically the same as it's name lol) to see if it does stay long for the day.

#2 RALPH LAUREN ROMANCE

This is a fragrance I have been identified for the last 10years. I love this scent and it is something that I will always wear. It works for casual and formal. For me it is a sweet smell that makes you feel so feminine.

#1 D&G L' IMPERATRICE

This is my top favorite among all. I've been using it  and has been my signature scent for more than 3 years. I've received a lot of compliments for this scent. Sadly, D&G has discontinued this perfume. I now have my last bottle. I've checked on all big shops for this and was given the same information that they are just finishing the stocks of this line because it is being discontinued. the last bottle I have was purchased on a small Perfume shop in a grocery. I am trying to hoard as much as I can at the moment and try to get it from small perfume shops who are the only ones who has it now.
I'm still hunting to find a replacement for this and still unsuccessful :(
Priority is to still try to find it on small shops to hoard and also to find a replacement.

*GIORGIO WINGS

This perfume is my all time favorite. It is not expensive and I only have the access to buy it in the states at discount stores like Marshalls, TJ Maxx. I think its around $20. The last time i was in the States was 2008 and of course the 100 ml. bottle I bought is finished. This is why I am looking forward to my visit in the States this Christmas to spend the Holidays with my family and Chief. Last year's holiday was with Chief's family in Italy so this year is mine.
I received a lot of compliments for this perfume too. The scent is very classic and pleasant. You smell like a real woman. Compare the D&G #3 which smells pleasant and sweet (not too much).

What about you guys? What is/are your signature scent?

Ciao!

Tokyo Love Soap

I was texting with my cousin through Whatsapp last week.
She told me about this Japanese soap she's been using for the last 3 months that made her skin lighter immediately after first use and more.. She sent me photos of herself and that's when I got excited.

See, I am a bit obsessive when it comes to things like this. On my childhood years I've developed a habit of making myself presentable physically that started off with Johnson's baby cologne to Angel's Breath, with the mild Johnson's compact powder and a fruity lip gloss.

Now at my age, my beauty regimen has matured and included things that you did not even consider when you were young like whitening, keeping a beautiful complexion etc.. This probably is the reason why I've managed to have kept looking younger than my age. I've always been mistaken to be 5years younger. Chief's friends and family has always asked about how old I am and always thought I was younger which makes him so proud..and me happy of course. I can thank my early consciousness about maintaining myself physically as the reason for all this.

My female cousins, my sister and myself have always shared tips and secrets about the different beauty products we use. Distance does not even stop us. Imagine one cousin living in Manila, my sister in Philadelphia, another cousin in San Francisco and myself here in Dubai. Beauty has made the world smaller for us. You can picture the excitement when our cousin from Manila discovered this product from Tokyo Love Soap, tried it herself and shared it to us.

Immediately upon reading about the product on the website and some reviews, I made my order! Our cousin in San Francisco did too and my sister is making her order at the moment.

To know more about this product you can visit the website of   Tokyo Love Shop . You can also read on about the products and their benefits. They ship all over the world and free for orders of $50 and up. This September they have a promotion of getting one soap of your choice for free for every $50 order. My cousin advised us to try the Tokyo Love Soap Premium, I ordered 4 pieces you can read on the website about the benefits of this soap as well as the reviews from users all over the world.

To be able to avail the promotion and reach $100 to get 2 free soaps, I also ordered the Tokyo Love Spot KEU Whitening Corrector Cream which I'm planning to use on my underarms, elbows, Knees and Goin area..

My order total was $115.94 and I requested for the same Premium Soap for my free ones.

I saw on the reviews that they sometime throw in some freebies of their other products so you can try them. I am hoping to receive one when my order comes.

Right now I am just anxious for my order to arrive here in Dubai. I was told on my account to try my tracking number next week for an update for my shipment. I really cannot wait.

If this product pleases me, I am thinking of selling here in Dubai.

For now we all have to wait til my order comes so I can give you my review for this product.

Ciao!
